Liverpool Echo – Blankstone’s team to invest time in charity
Liverpool Echo – 24 March 2015
Marie Curie Cancer Care have announced that Liverpool investment company, Blankstone Sington, have nominated them as their Charity of the Year.
The partnership is the first of its kind for Blankstone Sington, who decided to support Marie Curie further after dedicating lunch breaks at Christmas and springtime to support the charity’s Liverpool Street Collections, which raise money to help people with a terminal illness get the care they need.
Michael Blankstone, Non Executive Chairman at Blankstone Sington, said: “We are delighted to support Marie Curie as our first Charity of the Year Partner.
“We will be keen supporters of the Great Daffodil Appeal in March and have plenty planned for the rest of the year, too.
“Our aim is to raise as much money and awareness as possible for the Marie Curie Hospice, Liverpool.”
Marie Curie Community Fundraiser, Colette Byrne, said: “To be nominated as Charity of the Year by Blankstone Sington is an incredible honour.
“All staff at the company have been hugely supportive of Marie Curie in the past few years and now they’re dedicating a year to support us in various ways. They started with a dress down day, a really simple and easy way to raise money, and it really goes a long way.”
Marie Curie are looking for more companies in Liverpool and Wirral to support street collections and other appeals. For more information, contact Colette on 0151 801 1405 or email
