CREST Personal Membership

We recognise that, for a substantial number of clients, part of the enjoyment of investing in shares is the direct relationship they have with the company. However, certificates can cause administrative problems. For example, we are compelled to deal for non-standard settlement, which may prevent us achieving as favourable a price as dealing for the normal timescale.

An alternative is to become a Crest Personal Member, enabling you to hold shares in an electronic form, whilst retaining identical rights to those of a certificated investor. Your name still appears on the register as a holder and proof of your title of ownership. You will still have a direct relationship with the company whose shares you hold, and will continue to receive dividend payments, company accounts and any shareholder perks directly from the company. There are certain agreements that need to be entered into before becoming a Personal Member but these are easily arranged.
